Girls on the Run South Hampton Roads (GOTRSHR) will be participating in the Santa Claus Shuffle as our end of the season 5k.  This race is NOT managed by Girls on the Run so it is especially important that everyone understand the following:

  • No one may run the race without registering for the event and signing a liability waiver.
  • Girls will start at the back of the completive runners at the “Girls on the Run” Corral. The race is chip timed, so their time will reflect time from the actual start of the race.
  • Participants, Coaches and Running Buddies should plan on arriving at the VIP area at 8:00am.
  • Participants (“Girls”) and Coaches do not get t-shirts or race bags from the Santa Shuffle.  GOTR will provide girls with their own race bags in the GOTR VIP area.
  • Running Buddies and/or parents that are running should have registered for the race through the Santa Claus Shuffle.  Running Buddies will need to pick up their race number and bag at the Santa Claus Shuffle packet pick up prior to coming to the VIP area to find their buddy.  Running Buddies should also know the school they are paired with.  Packet Pick Up is available: Thursday, 12/8, 4-7pm Running Etc. at 1940 Laskin Rd., Suite 302, Va. Beach, in the Regency Hilltop Shopping Center;  Friday, 12/9 9am-1pm Running Etc. at 1707 Colley Ave. Norfolk; Race Day, 12/10 7:00 – 8:45 am at the nTelos Pavilion, Portsmouth

Girls on the Run VIP Area

The VIP area will include:

  • Girl/Coach Race Number and Packet Pick Up (Running Buddies pick up at the general race packet pick up – see above)
  • “Find your Team” – each team will have a special spot.  They will be in alphabetical order around the inside perimeter of the VIP area
  • Running Buddy “Help” Area
  • Goody Happy Hair Station
  • GOTR Shop selling Girls on the Run Merchandise (cash and local checks only please!) – all proceeds go to our council to help fund scholarships
  • Information Table

  • The Race start will be at the nTelos Pavilion, 901 Crawford Street, Portsmouth, VA.
  • The pink star indicated the Girls on the Run VIP area.
  • The red stars and yellow areas indicate additional parking areas.
